Research Scientist

Mimoza Xheka is a Research Scientist at Cambridge Polymer Group with expertise in analytical chemistry, materials characterization, and extractables and leachables testing. She holds a B.S. in Industrial Chemistry and an M.S. in Environmental Science and has worked in analytical laboratories for more than two decades.

At CPG, Mimoza supports medical device and materials clients through chemical characterization studies, ISO and USP testing, extractables and leachables evaluations, and analytical method development. Her work focuses on the identification and quantification of trace compounds in complex matrices using chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques.

Mimoza has extensive experience with LC-MS, GC-MS, GPC, FTIR, DSC, and TGA, and she has led projects involving polymer characterization, material de-formulation, and degradation product analysis. She enjoys solving challenging analytical problems and developing practical testing solutions that help clients meet product development and regulatory objectives.

Identifying Stability Risks Before They Become Product Failures

Few challenges are more frustrating in product development than discovering stability issues late in the development cycle. A formulation that appears robust during early screening can unexpectedly exhibit aggregation, sedimentation, viscosity changes, or inconsistent performance during scale-up, storage, sterilization, or end use. Whether developing a nanoparticle therapeutic, a particle-containing drug product, a medical device coating, […]
