Jaimee Robertson

Director of Consulting Services

As Director of Consulting Services at Cambridge Polymer Group, Jaimee Robertson helps clients navigate complex materials and product development challenges, particularly in the medical device industry. She works across the product lifecycle, from early-stage concept development and material selection to product characterization, failure analysis, and manufacturing support.

Jaimee specializes in polymer characterization and the development of custom test methods designed to evaluate material and device performance in simulated use conditions. Her work often involves investigating product failures, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions to improve performance and reliability. She has extensive experience supporting medical device development through analytical testing, in vitro assay development, and materials-focused product evaluations.

Before joining Cambridge Polymer Group in 2015, Jaimee conducted research at the Syracuse Biomaterials Institute, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, and the University of Alabama. Her research focused on shape memory polymers, advanced biomaterials, and microfluidic technologies, resulting in multiple peer-reviewed publications and patented innovations.

Jaimee holds both M.S. and B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University, along with a B.S. in Mathematics. She brings a strong foundation in materials science, engineering, and analytical problem-solving to client projects across the medical device and advanced materials sectors.

Beyond Drug Release: The Growing Role of Polymer Characterization in Drug-Eluting Stents

Drug-eluting stents (DES) have significantly improved outcomes for patients undergoing coronary interventions by reducing the risk of restenosis following implantation. The therapeutic effectiveness of these devices depends on controlled drug delivery, and long-term performance is influenced by the polymer coating responsible for delivering the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). For manufacturers, understanding how these coatings change […]
