Laboratory Technician

Cambridge Polymer Group (CPG) is seeking for immediate hire a full-time Laboratory Technician. CPG is a highly respected material science research laboratory. You will have an opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects in the fields of health care and consumer products, directly impacting patient quality of life and the consumer.  Due to the diverse project work, day to day tasks are variable and require prioritization to meet deadlines. The work routine requires high-quality work on tight schedules.

Primary tasks

  • Performance of routine laboratory tasks following protocols
  • Operation of characterization equipment
  • Maintaining a clean work environment
  • Back up to Receiving and Purchasing, including shipping of samples and management of inventory
  • Assisting with facility checks
  • Instrument oversight – routine maintenance, scheduling service visits/calibrations

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate should hold at least an Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline preferably including introductory chemistry courses.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment with chemicals and reagents
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
