Fatigue Crack Propagation Testing in UHMWPE This poster presentation discusses the comparison of fatigue crack propagation testing per ASTM E647 using a new optical system developed at Cambridge Polymer Group to monitor crack growth in an automated manner. The presentation shows results from two laboratories using the system. Presented at the 7th semi-annual UHMWPE Conference on October 22nd., 2015 in Philadelphia, PA.
Molecular Weight Characterization to Assess Aging in Ultra-high Molecular Weight Polyethylene Molecular weight assessment of UHMWPE was used to assess the shelf-life of aged and irradiated material. This poster was presented at the 60th Annual meeting of the Orthopedic Research Society in Las Vegas, NV (2015).
The Role of Thermal History on the Semicrystalline Morphology and Impact Strength of PEEK The effects of thermal treatment on polyether ether ketone (PEEK) on crystallinity and impact strength was investigated in this study. This poster was presented at the 2nd International PEEK meeting in Washington DC in April, 2015.

The Measurement of Antioxidant Efficacy in UHMWPE Oxidation induction time was used to measure the efficacy of antioxidants in UHMWPE. This technique was used to analyzed the efficacy of a variety of antioxidants, and provides a useful tool for screening potential antioxidant compositions. This paper was presented at the UHMWPE conference at Drexel University on September 22, 2011.
Absorption of Biological Compounds into UHMWPE The influence of polyethylene composition on absorption of biologically-relevant species was analyzed in this study, presented at the UHMWPE Conference at Drexel University on September 22nd, 2011. The results suggest that Vitamin E may act as an inhibitor to diffusion of some biological species into UHMWPE.
