Materials
CPG develops novel materials for clients and for in-house use. Our chemists can develop materials from scratch, or can modify existing materials using conventional chemistry, radiation chemistry, or blending techniques. We have active research programs in thermoplastics and hydrogels.
Hydrogels
Cambridge Polymer Group has an active hydrogel research program. We formulate new hydrogel compositions to meet mechanical, morphological, or surface property requirements, or modify existing hydrogel formulations. We have prepared multilayer hydrogel constructs, composite constructs, and custom cast hydrogels to mimic tissue and organs. Our analytical group are experts in characterizing the mechanical, chemical, and morphological nature of hydrogels, and can design custom tests for client-specific tasks. We also have several hydrogel formulations available for license. Our technology allows us to cast hydrogel constructs in a variety of shapes, with a range of specified mechanical properties.

Synthetic Tissue Phantoms
Cambridge Polymer Group, Inc., has been using our patented hydrogel technology to develop synthetic tissue phantoms since 2002 that have similar properties and the feel of natural tissue. Our technology allows us to cast hydrogel constructs in a variety of shapes, with a range of specified mechanical properties.

Vitamin E UHMWPE
Cambridge Polymer Group, Inc., has developed several formulations of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene stabilized with Vitamin E, a naturally occuring antioxidant, for total joint arthroplasty. This patented technology, developed with Massachusetts General Hospital, exhibits extremely good wear properties, and has mechanical properties approaching that of virgin UHMWPE. These materials are available for license.
